Hello Terry
ReplyDeleteAs I was thinking about a topic to discuss what came to me was what has been life changing for me
"POSITIVE THINKING, POSITIVE ATTITUDE". This has become a way of life for me. It is very easy to have negative thaughts and even easier to harbor those feelings for long periods of time. The challenge is to program your way of thinking. There is always a bright side, a better day, and a chance to make things right no matter the situation. Let go of those things that can not be changed. Take control of what you can and make it better. Be optomistic. All of this is easy to say but in time the difference will show.
"The greatest revolution in our generation is the discovery that human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives."
William James (1842-1910)

Hello Jen,
ReplyDeleteI’m happy to see you are still with us. I really didn’t mean to keep you on the edge. As mentioned, I was out trying to touch lives by inviting people to join our family and receive the strength to keep pressing forward in their lives through our topics. I wanted to do something different this time and ask the family to think of some topics of interest.
Your topic for discussion “POSITIVE THINKING, POSITIVE ATTITUDE” will be our topic for this week.
When I think of positive thinking and positive attitude I reflect to my acronym “SADE”. The “A” represents attitude. In order to understand growth, possessing a positive attitude is key. Along with that, positive thinking creates the ability to transform. Many of us are unable to see ourselves at our highest form because we don’t embrace positive thinking and positive attitude. As I explore further positive thinking and positive attitude run parallel with each other. One must realize positive thinking promotes a positive attitude intern a positive attitude results from positive thinking. This way of living however, must be learned. It’s not an easy thing to do one must want to transform themselves for the better. But once the transformation takes place, the sun begins to SHINE.
POSITIVE THINKING,POSITIVE ATTITUDE- I do believe they go hand in hand. Although it is difficult to achieve both at the same time. As Terry mentioned it is something that must be learned. I always begin my day with positive thinking, however I don't always have a positive attitude during every situation that may arise. All situations are new learning experiences for me, and I do believe that a new petal is sprouting each time I sit back and analyze what I could of done better or different. Soon enough my life will be in full blossom..
ReplyDeleteMy POSITIVE THINKING,POSITVE ATTITUDE was put to the test this weekend... I am raising a 15 year-old young lady who was in an all girl Catholic high school. I recently transferred her out to a coed public school. My fear when doing this was the fact that she would now be distracted by being in classes with boys. My fear came to haunt me on Friday. A situation took place where I had to put in practice POSITIVE THINKING,
POSITIVE ATTITUDE (it is not as serious as it may sound). I stepped back and took a moment to think about how my mother would have handled the situation and (LOL) did the opposite. In the end it turned out that I now know that our relationship has overcome one of the rocks in a very bumpy road. Hence POSITIVE THINKING,
POSITIVE ATTITUDE...
Recently I was faced with a medical condition that seemed to be getting worst rather than better and natrually I was worried. Soon I realized that after every doctor appointment I would be depressed and I would feel worst. Then I started to think about the choices I had. Fist its not life threatening so what do I do? I think about how its going to change me. That also depressed me. Well being is not just physical it is mental as well. Im a fighter and I started telling myself Jen its going to be ok. Then I believed it and began to think POSITIVE. I also noticed my attitude changing. I was truly greatful for what I have and stopped concentrating on what I didnt have or couldnt have thats when things got better. Im happy to say im fine. The lesson for me was what I always heard my grandmother say " what doesnt kill you will make you stronger ". Now im having the pleasure of watching my dreams unfold before me. Staying positive is not easy but im getting better at it every day.
ReplyDeleteHi Terry,
ReplyDeleteReading Jen's and Jackie's comments are true examples of the power of the mind and the effect of positive thinking and attitudes.
The philosophy that I live by is "Positive minds create positive ideas". Therefore, I surround myself with positive people that will enhance my educational as well as spiritual growth and development.
I also strongly believe that through FAITH all things are possible, so when faced with a circumstance, I pray then leave it in God's hands. Therefore, exercising my faith and seeing results builds my attitude and helps me to remain positive.
As the Proverb says "Trust in the Lord with all of thine heart and lean not to our own understanding, but in all thy ways acknowledge him and he will direct our paths"
Thank You Jackie and Anna for your post and am very happy to see you are moving forward in your lives.
ReplyDeleteAs mentioned, we must always start our day with POSITIVE thoughts; this allows us to maintain a POSITIVE attitude throughout the day. It’s very important that we surround ourselves with POSITIVE people. Keeping negative company hinders our growth and could eventually decrease our dreams. This is why we must stay in FAITH. Faith will allow us to see the true picture of our highest self.

It can be very difficult to stay positive in the world we live in. Things happen so quickly…your up one minute and down the next. I find the most important thing is to take time for myself. Time to get centered and refocus on my goals. I can be very sensitive. When I take a moment and step-back I usually realize “it’s not about me”. I can’t internalize someone else’s bad day. As long as I’m doing what I’m suppose to and doing it to the best of my ability….I’m cool. I can keep it moving.
ReplyDeleteLeesa,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Family, I’m honored to have you join us. I truly understand what you are saying, it’s very hard to remain POSITIVE in this world we live in. But when I think about it deeply, this is the real reason why we must stay positive throughout (this world). As mentioned, things happen so quick, we must be quick to stay positive that’s what separates us from those who fail to realize. Taking time for you is one of the best ways to project and envision your best self. Keep it moving with FAITH. With Faith no obstacle will defeat you.

Hi Terry,
ReplyDeleteWhat keeps me positive is the unconditional love I give and receive from my wonderful family and a few really close friends I have had for over thirty years. I also enjoy a good laugh. Not a phony smile from the mouth only but an eye crinkling, belly holding, nose running good laugh. It puts everything in prespective.
Jen from the short amount of time I have known you I see that you are a hardworking and dedicated person even when you are not feeling 100%! Take care of yourself and keep smiling!
Welcome ladydee, so glad to have you join us. Receiving unconditional love from family and friends is truly a wonderful feeling especially in times of trying to remain positive. As for me, the unconditional love that I receive from family, comforts me and gives me the ability to keep pressing forward. It’s an unbelievable feeling that people must experience.
ReplyDeleteI concur, an eye crinkling, belly holding, nose running good laugh is always good for the soul and puts everything into perspective. If we could enjoy a good laugh every now and then, I’m assured we would see better days and overcome obstacles.
